My first Open Studios experience was super. There was a lot of preparation work involved getting everything organised, marketed, finished and ready for the event. We had a number of visitors – friends, family and new people to meet. Thank you to everyone who visited particularly those who brought along their children. Hopefully some of them were inspired to consider a creative pursuit as a vocation.

Inspired by visiting other local artists during Open Studio 2017 in May this year, I decided to have a go myself. The scheme runs an accreditation process where you have submit 3 examples of your work, a biography and an artist statement. I was nervous they would say no. However I received the good news last Friday and I’m on my way to having my first Open Studio next May. Wish me luck!!! Cheers, Jason
p.s. I’ve attached the 3 pieces of work I submitted.
